Having a strong opinion and expressing it is everyone’s right, some folks want to cause a stir, some have economic interests, some think they have more knowledge that others lack, some have emotional differences with harvesting anything living, some slice and dice what interests them it may be Kokanee that are important with no concern about Macks at all. As we mature (age) many of these influences and beliefs change for most individuals.
Regulations determines what really is or is not acceptable that is also Everyone’s right.
Follow the Regulations!!
I think that picture was photoshopped! [;)]
Geez guys I didn’t mean to throw the cat on the dog with my original post. Just wanted to know from someone more in-the-know than myself if all the concern about the big macks was justified in view of the reported abundance of pups waiting in line to become big fish. Didn’t mean to get people all riled up about the issue.
I liked Wyomoose’s comments about replica mounts. A quick photo and a couple of measurements and he’s on the wall and in the water.I did have to take exception to Wyo.s comment about the big fish “being easy to catch and vulnerable at times.” He needed to qualify this statement with a “when you know what you are doing.” I have never found them to be vulnerable to my feeble offerings.[;)]
Also liked Capt. Jim’s comment about better technology in use by more knowledgeable fishermen fishing more often.
I support catch and release of these fish and I appreciate the comments offered. Now let there be peace among us and upon the waters..
I’m not a large mack chaser at all. But this guy is just a deleted. Any new member who comes on ranting about typical BFTers blah blah blah, kill all big fish blah blah blah is worth our time.
There are more and more fishing hours, technology is improving and gear is improving. But the amount of certain fish (and in certain sizes) is limited. All decent, logical and reasonable sportsmen will do what they can to make sure our fishing resources stay at least as good, but improve for the future.
