Hi, I am brand new to fly fishing and would love to know how to fish provo river. Dont know what to look for or where to go. Want to try Monday if anybody wants to teach myself and a friend.
Logan is that you?
Welcome!!!![]()
Monday should be a fun day to fish…I will be out on the Provo as well down by UL. It will be cool and from what I hear…a bit windy as well, but It should be an ok day of fishing none the less.
I have only fly fished once, so I am not the person to ask, but there are lots of people on here that I am sure would be happy to help…there is also a Utah Fly-fishing board that may get more responces:

Good Luck and welcome..I look forward to your posts,

Try it near Jordanelle dam there lots of easy access points and areas to wade. Early morning toss dries: elk hair caddis, Adams, or Griffith’s Gnat. Looks for rifts or spots were fast water meets slow water. cast up stream and let it dead drift down stream.
Later in the afternoon I switch to nymphs or emergers, wd40’s, prince nymph, pheasant tails hare’s ear, copper johns then pinch on some weight 1 to 2 bb sized split shots about 12 to 16 inches up look for deep holes and dead drift the flies through the holes.
In the evening I switch to hoppers or foam ants with a same technique as dries but cast them close to the bank working your way out toward the middle.
Oh and just FYI you would probably get more advise on fly fishing if you posted this over in the fly fishing board.
