line poll

Interesting. You’ve definitely piqued my curiosity. I do use a lot of Japanese hard baits, and the couple that I’ve lost have left me pretty sad. I’ve used braid for buzzbaits, but I always hear that if you use it with topwater hardbaits that the line gets wrapped in the trebles while walking the dog. Have you had any problems with that?

25$ thats a spendy lure.. i hate spending 10$ on a lure.. i can only think of two companies that make lures that pricy. But im pretty sure there swim baits not a top water..

Ive seen a lot of those lures around and most seem to have decent luck they look pretty realistic but like you said really hard on the wallet

So i guess this is the point where I have to decide if I should let the cat out of the bag eh? LOL Ive thought it over and I suppose I can throw you all a bone…but you’ll still have to figure out how to fish it to get the results I get and that is gonna be fun but difficult so here ya go…its the Anthrax 100 from Megabass…sweetest lure a fisherman can own…from there the rest is up to you. Merry Christmas and all that jazz!

I’ve been eyeing those on ebay, but those and the Vision 110s are really hard to ever get deals on. I hear that the knockoffs of these are actually pretty decent though. I guess I’ll keep on deal hunting.

fyi i bought a set of the knockoffs…and they bodily were very much the same but rrrrrrnt…they suck big time…waste of money…when it comes to megabass nothing is like the real thing…the gyro ball systems and internal cadences are extremely difficult to cheaply reverse engineer…if you are looking for some interesting entertainment…do some research into the owner ito…the guy is amazing and the work he puts into the insides of these babies is second to none. Yes…the outside is spectacular but its how they work and move and sound that catches the fish…ebay is my source and most of the time i get em for around 20 but lately they have only been buy-it-nows for about 23 plus 5 for shipping…even still…WELL WORTH THE MONEY…trust me…I know

I’m not surprised to hear they suck. It’s kind of like how Jann’s Netcraft has their Springers instead of Pointers. I bought some back when I was getting back into bass fishing a few years ago, and then I got a good deal on a real one. Now I have about 200 Lucky Crafts and the knockoffs will probably be donated to my brother who isn’t as serious about fishing.

I will probably just bite the bullet and buy an Anthrax sometime before the spring. I have quite a few other Megabass baits, the Griffon is probably my favorite so far but there are a few I didn’t get around to trying last season as well. I will have to read about Ito, reading about fishing and making gear is about all I can do right now since I don’t ice fish, so it should help get me through the winter.

Have you ever used Jackall baits? I found the Squirrel jerkbaits to be killer on the smallies this past fall. The little Cherry cranks and Muscle Deeps have been good to me as well.

I honestly havent tried a heck of alot of other stuff because I havent seen the need to blow money on speculation ventures…Ive had several megabass try outs…including the popmax, xpod (which was wicked cool but not all that productive), live x margay stepcat(tore up the steelhead with this lil guy), and maybe a couple others..but at the end of the day the anthrax 100 is hands down the winner so far…the regular Anthrax is not very good comparatively…but semi functional. this Ito guy is so cutting edge on r&d im insanely impressed…I believe you can watch him fish his lures on youtube for the most part which i find awesome to see the inventor using his wares…there is a video out somewhere of him demonstrating how his plastic sound chamber for the cicada lure make the exact same sound signature as a real cicada…thats wicked cool…wanted to try one sometime but as much as all his stuff costs my ability to afford to try stuff is limited so I kinda go with what I know kicks ass…

Cool, I will definitely check out his Youtube videos. I’m definitely a tackle junky. I’m always buying new lures that I haven’t tried before just to see how they work. I will definitely try to get an Anthrax 100 before the spring bass season starts up.
