Lincoln????

Has anybody been out to good ole Lincoln Beach lately??? Just wondering if the walleye were picking up yet. Man wish I was born rich so I didn’t have to work all the time.

**I tried it yesterday. It started out as a perfect morning but by the time I got on the water and over to the first spring in came the wind. **

I fished for about 20 minutes until the breakers were starting to break on my toon and I headed in. I tried fishing from shore for another 30 minutes but the weather was just too crappy.

Thanks for the report CP. I think i might try it next week sometime.

I went out saturday morning. The weather was perfect, but no walleyes. Talked to a couple of boats and they hadn’t caught any eyes either. One boat said there was a guy in a little flat bottom that was about 1/2 mile west of the L that had two, but that was it. No waders at all that morning and only one guy fishing of the end of the levy. I picked up a few white bass and a couple of bluegill that I found schooled up way out in about 9’ of water. Finished up the day by snagging a few carp inside of the little cove at the L. All the fish I caught (in the mouth) were taken under a bobber. I had several hits on my jigs, but couldn’t get any hookups, most of the hits were ultra light. Water temp at launch was 58.5* and got as high as 61* when I left at noon.

:sunglasses:I got a report of some fish coming in just before dark…when the “breezes” were acting up a bit. It is always better to fish in nice weather, but walleyes often don’t share that philosophy. They are also prone to like the evening more than morning at times.

The best time to go fishing is whenever you can. But, the best time for catching is when the fish choose to cooperate.

Whenever I go to Lincoln I always fish til pitch dark. Everybody else is gone. The fish don’t like to feed until about that time. Last year I was fishing out there in November, and could hear the lake start to get a little coating of freeze. I have always done better when it was dark. The morning is okay too, but not as much as the night.

THINK ABOUT THIS FROM THE WALLEYES VEIW. THE WAIVES COME IN BIG HIT THE PREY FISH SMASHING THEM ALL AROUND AND DISSORENTING THEM. EASY MEAL TIME. IF I HAD TO CATCH ALL MY MEALS WOULD I LOOK FOR SOMETHING EASY OR HARD? IF ITS ABOUT LIVING OR DIEING. ILL CHOOSE EASY. WALLEYES ALWAYS CHOOSE EASY. AND MOST PREY FISH SLEEP AT NIGHT . THIS IS WHY EYES FEED SO WELL IN LOW LIGHT HRS. SLEEPING PREY IS EASY MEALS.

yea i like fishing after dark too…so when the people leaves i just pop out my treble hook and a 1/8 weight…cast and jerk all the way..[;)]

THATS OLD SCHOOL. I THOUGHT YOU WAS A YUNG GUY? SNAG MASTERS. NOW I GET WHY YOU CATCH ALOT OF EYES.

lol…im kiddin

[#ff4040]That’s way old skool. Come on Gee, at least just go with the treble hook only. I’ve found that works a lot better.[/#ff4040][sly][sly]

naw i got a good plan for december if the lake doesnt freeze up…:sunglasses:
