Lets see your customizations!!

The four individual storage compartment and elevated casting deck is complete.[:)]

That looks great Mac. Looks like it should have been built that way in the first place.

I think you just gave me an idea for my boat. I’ll have to look at some things this weekend to see if I can pull it off.

Here is a quick walk around video I made showing the deck I built. Still need to get my seats in and maybe re do the trolling motor mount though.

There’s some great pics in here. I’m actually Jealous of a few guys!

I’m wondering if anyone out there has ever mounted a Bow Mount trolling motor on a fiberglass boat. It’s a sport boat but I’d love to make this work for fishing too. Any advice along with some pics would be awesome! I attached a pic of what I’m working with (the pic is just one I had in my work computer, if you need a closer pic let me know)

Remove that front cover from your open bow and put a few more pics up here of that area. I’m thinking you could mount an electric up there with little to know problem. Just need room for batteries up front. But some pics would help.

Sorry, these aren’t the best. I’ll try to get better ones in the daylight. Access from the bottom is very limited. I think I can get under their with a nut and maybe a washer but not much else.

I also attached a pic I ran across online and I was wondering if his mod would work for me. I’m concerned about limited access underneath causing problems.

I forgot to mention batteries are no problem. I could easily fit two nice size batteries up front under the seats to run a 24 volt motor.

I would think that you could on that flat part in the very front. I have seen other boats like yours with them. If I remember tonight I will take a picture of how mine is mounted. If you have to you could remove that light in the front and mount some LED ones on the side. I saw this on a boat on the UDAV event and talked to the guy and this is where he got them.

They look really nice. My trolling motor blocks my light on one side so I need to do something like this.

Those lights are sweet! Not too expensive either. I think I’m going to try and mount it right on the bow and move the lights like you said. All I have to do is see if I can get some good support underneath…

I just wanted to bump this old post of mine and see if there were any other people with cool customizations.

Well I am changing the seats out from the bench style to pedestal, I have added a few rod holders, a couple of metal bands for marine and dRa radios, updated the electronics and added some safety equipment. Next is to get the Bimini to stand up out of the way.

Nice! That’s one thing I need to add too, more rod holders. Maybe I’ll do that while it’s raining.

Once I get the Bimini and the seats done I have a downrigger that needs a new drag wheel/screw. When I obtained this beast I was the rigger came that way. I should be able to find one. It is an old Penn.

I have just started restoring an old 1961 boat. I just got the old 1961 Johnson 75hp purring like a kitten (cruised around Utah lake last week.) Next I will be painting, building a floor and seats, and trying to make her presentable. This thread is good for some ideas. I will post a few progress picks along the way.

Gotta love these old boats. I need to do some fiberglass work when it gets to a nice warm temp. I have the area ground down ready to go.

Well the seats are in and Bimini finished. I added a clamp on Scotty holder to the bow. I need to add one more. Also looking at a possible electric trolling motor. Will know more tomorrow.

I wanted to bump this and see what everyone has done to their boats, since this was a pretty old post.

I really want to do something with my front deck. I just haven’t figured out exactly what yet.
