latest pvc creation

I decided to build myself a new rod rack for the tube today since i finally found the rite diameter pvc, the old stuff was too thick I could only get certain poles in it and now it will fit all my poles just fine (still 1in tubing just thinner side wall). Had to change a couple things this time around as my “trolling” feature on the old one was too far forward, also made it a little smaller still holds 2 rods for launch. Now I need to figure out a way to mount my fishing buddy sonar as the previous design was less than spectacular. My brother had me make him one as well but his is just a basic 2 rod holder as i didn’t want to put the “trolling” feature on his until I know how the new design works. Now all I need is a nice sunny day to test it.

:sunglasses:Looks like it will work. As always, you will know better after you have tried it on the water a couple of times.

I’m just finishing up a 40 page writeup on adding rod holders to tubes and toons. About 120 pictures of a chronology of all the things I have used over the years…including current modular setups. Remind me in a couple of weeks and I will send you a copy. Going out of town a few days at the end of this week.

In the meantime, here is something more generic that will probably help. Oh yeah, you are now using class 200 PVC instead of the heavier schedule 40. That makes a big difference in weight and it is plenty strong. Also fits the same fittings.

I knew I needed the class 200 pvc but had been unable to find it, located it at lowes near my house so it was game on for a new design. I took allot of the design from the previous rack as it worked well for what I wanted it to do just needed some tweaking to make it better. The testing will begin hopefully later in the week.

Nice and clean Matt, good luck, but it looks like a winner.

Looks great. For your fishin buddy holder here is an idea. I used one that was made by Leigh Outdoors and it was made from ABS pipe. It was a length of pipe with a conection at each end that was flared out that held the buddy in place. It was held to the toon or tube with a strap.

Very nice illustrated guide!
