I’m wanting to take the boat out this weekend and I was wondering if strawberry is ice free yet. Anyone know if it will be boatable this weekend? Thanks
As of this morning, I hear the Soldier Creek side is mostly open, the Strawberry side still has lots of ice. You can probably launch at Soldier Creek marina but you will be limited as to where you can go. Floating ice may be a hazard.
People are taking float tubes out along the edge of the ice and doing pretty good.
Ice will probably be totally gone in about a week.

Went to Soldier and then to Renegade areas today to try from the bank. Ssssssllllloooooowwwww… didn’t talk to anyone that caught more than two for many hours of work.
Both ramps were ice free. Strawberry Bay had a good amount of ice to the west.
How did Indian Creek bay look itself? You said that renegade ramp was ice free. Wondering about the rest of the bay.
I’m still getting to know the Berry and the names of it’s locations. But the west of Strawberry bay (Badger Creek) had a lot of ice, and some ice was stacked to the North end of Chicken Creek, but I did not see ice elsewhere.
There were boats in the bay west of the Renegade ramp.
You might want to PM Kastmaster to double check with him, just in case he had sharper eyes than I. This is my best memory, and I would not want to give you any misinformation! [;)]
