Lake Powell Report!!!PIX ADDED

I am going to try and make this short and sweet, even though there are many “side” stories I can tell during this trip. We were at LP from the 22nd to the 26th and had an AWESOME time!!! First time I had been there since I was 6, so great to be back. We had a group of 10 and there were only 4 of us that had been there before and now those other 6 are HOOKED!!! The first couple days were kind of slow as far as finding the fish, we did pick up a few stripers, crappie, bluegill and walleye, but the best day was the 25th. We found schools of fish everywhere, maybe it had to do with the warm weather that we had. We camped in Forgotten Canyon and fished there some of the time and fished in various other places as well with good success everywhere. All in All a great time, good to fish with my Dad, wife, and an old buddy and a few close friends, cant beat that right? I may add some more to the post here later, just got back and am very tired, I just downloaded the pictures but have not sized them, so I may just have to send them to TubeDude for re-sizing and I will try to get everyone else to email me the pictures that they took too. Time for Bed.

P.S. I was trying to even out the tanline on my legs since my knees were so burnt, so that is why I was down to my “skivvies”!!![;)]

Sounds like you had fun! I can’t wait to go when I get back…send me some pics to my work email!

Sounds like a good time, if your still down for camping were going Sat. give me a call and ill let you know the details.

You didnt get stuck cleaning a cooler full of fish?
Did the white grubs and white Wally divers work out? Dan

Oh I got stuck cleaning a butt load of fish on the final day. There were only a couple fish taken on white tube jigs and one on the Wally Divers Dan!!! Dont know why they werent smacking them like they were for you, maybe it was the location of the lake that we were compared to you, who knows!!! The first 15-25 fish were taken on different baits. We used Rapala’s, Crank Baits, Grubs, Rattle Traps, etc etc etc. My first fish I caught off a top-water “popper”!!! It was awesome to see’em come up and hit it. On the 25th when we caught “The Mother Load” I mainly used a 4" Single Tail Chatreauce (spell check) Grub with a piece of anchovie!!!
Toby, let me know what your plans are as far as Powell when you come back on your mid-tour cause I AM THERE for sure. Brought a tear to my eye to leave. I am going to make an effort to get back down there 3-4 more times this year.

Hey Ts,

Glad to hear you had a great trip down to LP. Man I love that place. Hope some of what i provided for you info wise helped you out.

Riley

I love that place! We were there the 18th thru 22nd. Most of our fish were caught on single tail Mister Twisters in orange, chartruese or white, with a piece of anchovy. Or trolling with ANYTHING!

Our big fishing days were the 19, 20 and 21st. Between 2 boats, 8 people and 3 days, we caught 277 fish! Most were stripers.

Sounds like you had a great trip!

Randy

Anyone planning on going again sometime this summer??? I want to go another 3-4 times, dont have to be with a houseboat though.
