I am going to start this process, so let us start with a poll about what day of the week would work for everyone here on the Nevada Board. Hopefully we can agree on a day that works for most of us.
I’m going to say the week of March 21st through and 27th.
We will pick a good day, meet at the 33 Hole parking lot, start early, and go! It really only takes about 2 hours to pick up a shoot-ton of trash, and then we can do some fishing, where some newbies can get some great info.
I voted for Saturday but I could make either Saturday or Sunday. Unfortunately I work all week, so I couldn’t really make it out to Lake Mead with much sunlight left for trash cleanup.
Day of the week is not important to me. I work on-call so I will have to request whatever day it is. A weekend day would be nice so I could also bring my kids.
I also could probably round up some others to help.
i work saturday but next time i go out there ill bring a sack and carry it up. i seen a coyote grab a walmart bag full of what i think was old bait and run away, he should get a prize
We will bring our own bags (i will bring a box of big black trash bags) and we will take out all the trash we get. If we cant get it into a dumpster at the Hole, we will truck it out. Just toss it all in my pickup, and I’ll load it out of the LMNRA.
Great Deal man! I am down for either Saturday or Sunday. Like I mentioned in a previous post, I just moved down from Utah (Air Force) in the last month or so and while I was up there every time I went fishing I would pick up a Wal-Mart sack before I headed out on the water and another sack after putting the boat on the trailor. I can bring some bags as well. Also, do you have any BFT goodies to give away? If not I can get with some folks on the Utah side and have them send me some (stickers mainly, but we’ll see what I can get) to pass out to the folks that show up. I still havent fished here in Nevada, so maybe I will wait until then so I have some experienced Lake Mead anglers to show me the tricks of the trade on their pond!!! I made a couple of phone calls and am waiting on a call-back from the dept of park services. There seems to be a good chance that the park will handle the trash for us if we get it up to the parking lot. Don’t know what the options are yet, but they seem interested :).
If we do not get their help I will try’n show up in a pick-up to help the whizzle out. I don’t own one, but a buddy of mine that might be coming does.
Dang man, that would be awesome. I have been waiting on TheAngler to get me some schwag for quite some time to no avail. If I could get a huge stack of stickers and anything else, that would be great!
