Largemouth fishing is spotty. There have been some good catches taken
but the patterns vary. The largemouth are in post spawn and some are
being taken on deep gravel points on crankbaits. Others have begin to
show up on the drops. Most are being caught plastic worms along the
drops offs. The fish are moving to the drops but they are still
scattered. Crappie are slow. Catfish are slowing some. Very good
stringers are still being caught on leaches and nightcrawlers along the
rock. They are finishing their spawn. Fishing is best for the cats, very
early and late in the day. Whitebass are being caught on jigging spoons
and inline spinners along the river drops. When there is current the
whites have been hitting very good. Bluegill is excellent on several
baits. They are in 4’ to 6’ of water.
TIP: Fish are moving deeper as the water warms. If the bite slows, try
fishing deeper.
