I got there about 2015 and fished for an hour. I caught catfish and bluegill, with the first bluegill on 10 seconds after I dropped the worm in. I was using a unweighted worm on a blank rod you would find in the middle east. All in all it was fun with the catching fast. I released everything I caught and would recommend filing or bending down the barbs if you are going to catch and release, it makes it a lot easier.
It sounds like some fast fishing. I haven’t fished it since they drained them. Which pond were you fishing? How big and what kind of cats were you getting?
The cats were channels around 1-4 lbs caught on a worm and I was at the pond to the right of the south parking lot. I do not know the # of the ponds but I would guess it was #2. No size to the bluegill. I also went back yesterday and caught a few more bluegill and a small bass in the same pond.
I fish Kaysville at least once a week and have never been skunked. The only problem is—size. Only two large mouth have been over 15 inches. But the fishing is always fast using almost any color curly tail jig.
