How are we all? Seems like its warming up down here so you lot would be starting to feel the cold and I’m looking fwd to some ice reports soon enough from you lot :-D.
I have struggled to fish as much as I usually like to in recent months but have put the new boat in lately and scored a few fish. Its been great because I have got my girls interested in fishing now too. With the weather warming up we should start to see the pelagics coming through our waters soon so hopefully will get some pics up when they turn up
The fillet table pic made me think to myself “just another day in church, but on the other side of the world”. [fishon] Thanks for posting up, and hopefully you didn’t just jinx the ice by mentioning it! [;)]

Ooooops… Hope I didnt jinx it mate
The fish I was filleting was a flathead. The have some serious gill spikes and there upper body is covered in a anticoagulant slime. If you get spiked by one you bleed like a stuck pig and the slime creates an aching/bruising sensation for a few days after. Interestingly if you do get spiked by one you should rub the slime from it’s belly as it can limit the impacts of the aforementioned symptoms.
They are one of the nicesst eating fish we have down our way and the fillets will sell for $50 a kilo in the seafood stores.
