Woke up with urge to go fish! Did not get away early. Ran up to Jordy Solo with the pup, get her out for a swim and try for some kokes.
Got on the water later than would have planned about 8:00,It took a bit to find some fish , but got 5 kokes let one little one go. Kept one smaller than would have wanted but double hooked and in the eye so did not want to try to put it back. Kept 2 ok
Size and 2 smaller. Bite seemed best before about 10am. Power squad hit about 11:30 . Did a bit of looking around for next trip, found kokes as shallow as 20 feet and as deep as 50. I caught fish at 25 and 35 feet. Silver scale blades pink and pink orange squids.
Seems like the koke size is dropping off at The Nelle but I bet the bigger ones were pretty nice. Any over 16"? Glad to hear you made it up there and did so well.
It was fun I was glad to get a few and get the dog out for a swim.
Maybe 15” much smaller than last year or year before at this point?
I may try Willard Tomorrow, did you get them in freeway bay or north of there last trip?
This time of the year, we find them in an area we call the openness, which is a mile or more from any shore but it is on the East side of the lake.
Yes, I call it no-where land!
Buddy cancelled so didn’t make it out today.
Will try in the next few days, or I’ll go chase kokes or perch some where or both!
