Fishing from shore with rainbow bait worked great. Arrived about 5 and left about 7 with six smallish rainbow trout. We fished the south side of Hailstone. Would have caught more but I was teaching a new angler.
I don’t know who has been teaching the new angler group but I have a new appreciation for the effort you put in.
Sounds like you did good for only fishing for 2 hours. Were you fishing on the bottom or under a bobber?
How did you access the South shore of Hailstone, which I take to be the shoreline coming out of the Rock Cliff arm, the Dam, and the shore along the highway. Its pretty steep. Not trying to find the place you fished, just have hardly seen shore fishermen from a boat there.
Welcome to the site Fisherguy. I’m no expert on the area but I have been in that area many times and I believe you can get to the South shore by going over the river and walking down the shore on that side. I don’t think you will be able to go far but you might not need to go far, to get to the spot where he was fishing. Hopefully he responds and give you more info.
Thanks for the reply. Didn’t think of crossing the river and walking down the shore.
Not sure if it’s still there but there was a bridge that went across the river some years past
