Jordanelle Rock Cliff

Does anyone know if there is any shore access on the south shore of Rock Cliff? I know the shoreline is quite steep, and I haven’t been able to find anywhere to get down to it. But if anybody knows of something I missed, I’d appreciate them sharing. Thanks!

:sunglasses:I think you meant ROCK CLIFF.

Short answer…NOPE. Straight up and down. Not even the deer can handle it well. Saw one go rolling butt over teakettle down that hill one time. Slick sandstone.

Several spots within easy hike of the parking area on the north shore. Much better from a boat, tube or toon.

Ooops. Correction made, thank you. Anyone know of any good shore access places for SMB on Jordanelle?

:sunglasses:Actually there are quite a few places where you can count on catching smallies close to shore. When the water level is at its highest, the small perch get up into the flooded grass and weeds to the west of the Rock Cliff ramp and you can catch fish by cranking or tossing plastics all along the shore next to the road. Ditto for the steep gravel banks to the east of the ramp. Only right now the fish will be spawning some too. Either way, it does not take long casts…just a delicate touch to feel the sometimes light bite.

You can also hang some smallies to the west of the PWC ramp at Hailstone. Shallower slope to the bank and you may have to make some longer casts out into deeper water. But lots of smallies to be had. Ditto for all the gravel shoreline on both sides of the main ramp at Hailstone. Pitch small jigs along the shore…moving and casting. Surprising how many decent sized fish you can pick up in spots not often worked by “serious” bassers.

The next two to four weeks should produce some good “close in” smallies on everything from deep jigs to dropshot to crankbaits and even topwater…early and late.

Thanks! Is the Hailstone ramp the one on the west side? I’m guessing the PWC ramp is close by. I’ll do some exploring and let everyone know if I catch anything!

:sunglasses:Here’s a TD special map. Should help a bit.

haha. Thanks. I always love your maps!
