Jordanelle report 5/6

Went to the Nelle today. We got there at 9:30 and fished till 3:00. The water temps were 45-48 degrees and the water was very muddy, and full of sticks. That did not matter though, and the bows were very aggressive. We caught 44 fish between the three of us, and all were bows from 10-15 inches and one 16 inch brown. It was a good numbers day but I wanted to catch more browns. Anyone have any advice? Almost half of the bows would jump and dance on the surface when caught. I even had one jump in the air and my lucky craft came out of its mouth. The tension on the line made the lure pop back into the the boat, and almost hit my dad in the face. This was the first time I have fished the nelle from a boat and I had a great time. The weather was great except for the end of the day when it was a little windy. We did not know the lake or where to fish, but we still had a great day. Second pic is the 16" brown, third pic is a 10 inch bow I caught on a 9 inch Rapala:blush:, and the fourth pic is a dead moose or elk. There were a lot of dead animals in the water, probably from winter kill.

  • Nice job, was the water coming in good ?

I don’t know if the water was coming in good, but I imagine it was due to the water quality and logs floating in the water.
