Went yesterday fished from 7-3 started straight out from the ramp and tried for bass. Probably too cold? Caught a 12 in rainbow on a 3 in crank. Started trolling into the rockcliffs, it’s really dirty in there. The weather went bad and we started to head to the marina but it let up and we decided to troll the north end of the lake. My buddy was nailing the trout on rainbow and brown jointed rapalas. 15 rainbows, 1 cutt and two nice Browns. Me two bows and a 24 in brown! That brown made the day. My buddy the rest with a 22 in brown. All are still swimming, he wanted to keep his brown but was throwing all the bows back so I talked him into releasing the brown also. My camera was DEAD[:/]! First time I had that happen or would try to post picks, that won’t happen again. He hadn’t been to Jordanelle in a few years, I think he had a great time. He still has no idea about the smallies in there[:p].
I was there on Tuesday and only caught one brown. I was wondering what you guys were using to catch the browns, and if you were trolling or casting. Thanks.
I tape a couple of extra batteries together and leave them in my tackle bag for cameras, minimags etc… so I don’t have to remember to check the batteries.
Thanks for the idea, i’ll do that
!
I actually don’t know which one my buddy was using either the bow or brown jointed rapala? I caught the 24" on a rainbow rapala 2 inch I think. We were trolling. I wish I knew the speed? 8 hp as slow as it would go on a 14’ boat? Hope this helps.
Now you just have to remember the camera, which is what I struggle with.
we were there Tuesday afternoon as well. The water temps were only 42!!! looks like the smallies are still a few weeks away…
We also hit Pineview and it was 56 so go figure?
