Hit the Jordan this morning about 2 miles north of the pumphouse. Started with a worm 3’ under a bobber but there were no takers. Changed to a worm on a sliding sinker rig and it was game on. Caught a bunch of 8-10" mudcats and a couple of channel cats. I know there are some big cats in the river but I keep catching their little brothers. If anyone has any tips on landing those bigger cats, let me know.
The big ones will take a worm or other small bait, but swich to chub minnows or large shrimp…large fish = large bait …usually.
Good luck and great post
Try chicken livers or white bass chunkies. On the rare occasion that I fish for channels those have worked really well for me. I also agree that larger baits catch larger catfish.
