I have an itch. A burning desire to chase a thick bodied fish that can put my 8 lb line to the test. A strong urge to fight an undervalued sport fish that can wear out my reel. The only thing that can truly scratch this itch is a carp. That’s right. I didn’t stutter. CARP. I LOVE catching these things. I have only found 1 other fish that has put up a fight that can rival that of a 15 lb + carp, and that obviously is a nice tiger musky. But those are too few and far between to catch. Carp are all over the place, and relatively easy to hook. My favorite carp hole has seen a decline in the oversized goldfish in the last couple years (bountiful pond) due to a grate the DWR put in place near the outlet to keep the brutes from swimming into the pond from the west. Does anybody have any suggestions as to where this junkie can go for his fix? HELP!
They are all over in Pineview or Utah Lake, and they are aggressive. Go throw a crank at PV, and you might get a carp, or you might get lucky and get a musky.
Carp Huh[:/], as I’m sure you are aware almost any lake will have carp, I read recently of folks catching them from Willard bay down to Yuba but Utah lake is where most reports come from. I know those bigger ones can put up a good show of force, so I hope you well in you chase
