Inviting new members

I would like to get members of my fishing club on here now that the new site is open. What is the process with our new site

If you want to invite someone to a specific discussion, open that topic first, click Share, then choose Invite so they land right on that thread after joining.

Another way will be:

Members gain access to the Invite button (which helps you keep track of who you’ve invited and whether they signed on) on the left side once they reach Trust Level 2. The system is set up this way so invites are opened up to members who have spent some real time in the community first, which helps reduce spam, fake accounts, and misuse while keeping the forum stronger for everyone.

In short, getting to Trust Level 2 usually means being active and engaged by:

  • visiting on at least 15 different days

  • reading at least 100 posts

  • spending at least 60 minutes reading

  • giving at least 1 like

  • receiving at least 1 like

  • replying in at least 3 different topics

The idea is to make sure members get familiar with how the forum works before gaining access to invite others in. Once you hit that level, inviting club members becomes much easier through the button on the left side of the site.

We set it up this way to protect the community, encourage real participation, and make sure growth happens with active members who understand the forum culture.

Txs I will try it with a few of my trusted high school club members and go from there

And…txs for all the work and effort to get us on a more stable site. I know we will grumble a bit until we get it figured out but we will get there.
