iceing again today..

well fish addict sent me a PM saying he had a iching to hit the hard deck.. so i said me and tommy are headed up tomorrow if ya want to tag alog come on down.. ment up in fairview got all packed up and off to the lake.. got on the to see it’s about 1" thinker than the other day so there is a good 5" of ice on there now.. well Addict was the first to hit fish.. there are a lot of small fish in there willing to play.. most small bow’s 3 or 4 albino’s tommy want to catch one but did not hit one today. well i think 4 or 5 cutt’s.. around 12:00 the bite slowed down some and we packed up and went to E-lake to see we could get some bigger fish.. we hit pay dirt there to.. addict had a fish on the first cast with a tube jig.. cool. i put minnows down on the bottom and tommy put one under a bobber.. i think we ended up with 6 or 7 cutt’s and missed a bunch more.. i did how ever catch a rare rainbow out of E-lake.. a nice fat one to!

well here are some pic’s.. i did not make any video this trip..

Hello!
Nice fish and looks like it was a fun time.
Where were you fishing.. is it fairview reservoir?

Thanks,
Hope

ok i’m not going to give the name out on the open forum.. and it’s for the good of the lake that i dont.. it is very small and can not take a ton of pepole fishing it.

it is up fairview canyon i’ll give ya that much there..

Nice work again Ron. Thanks for sharing.

That bow is fatty, I don’t see many come out of there. In fact, I’ve never seen a bow out of E-lake. It’s a good thing I was at work detailing some 3" SS, looks like a terrible time [;)]

sounds like you had anouther good day on the ice. ive been on this site since it started and i cant believe how big tommy has gotten. glad you guys had a fun day together

Nice work!

That’s a gorgeous rainbow from E-Lake. The cutt is nice too.

I’ve still never caught anything but shiners from the north end. Are the weeds a factor at all right now?

I’m glad you are having fun catching those little guys through the ice. The only couple of fish I’ve caught from there looked about the same, minus the fins.

i have done well on both ends of the E-lake.. sometimes one area is better than another but for the most part the fish are every where on the lake.. we were getting some weed on the jiggs today but not bad.. and the cutt’s were chaceing the jigg’s right up to the shoure kind-a cool when they do that.. lol.

lol yeah i’m surprized to see fin’s on them fish to!! but all of them look to be eating good.. and in good shape just realy small.. i will say this, for what them fish lack in size they make up for in fight.. lol fun for the first 2 or 3 hours.. then i got to find bigger fish.. lol

Hey Ron way to go on the bows!! I have caught a few at e-lake using jakes lures.Seems they love those and the cutts stayed away from them. I do agree Tommy is getting bigger everytime you post a pic with him. They sure grow up really fast dont they.[:p]

You aint be fooling me ol’ buddy.. I’m thinking you needed Tommy there to provide you with catch photos. He always make me proud when he show’s up his pappy.

Congrats Tommy! [;)]

oh man ya cought me again.. lol.. realy tommy was in one of his modes to explore and kick ice chuncks acrost the ice more so then fish.. lol but he still did good.. and he realy tryed to get that albino he could see about 3 to 4 feet under the ice..

Nice bow. In nearly 40 years of fishn electric lake for me , I’ve only caught arround a half dozen bows myself. The last was 24" fat and just over 6lbs (and returned) But all of the bows I’ve saw come out of there have been nice. Arround 6-10 yrs ago while float tubing the upper end across from the boat ramp. A freind of mine landed 3 bows in a row and all were between 20-25" and were kept for dinner. Very unusual catch for e-lake.Makes one wonder how those tigers will fair in there in a couple more years, provided the zebra mussles don’t foul things up.

hey Lonnie long time buddy! yeah it is a rare day on E-lake to hit a fat rainbow! the one i hit yesterday was only about 14 to 15 inchs but as ya can see it was way fat! i to am hopping them tigers take well to the lake! most the tigers i have cought and other peploe have cought and told me about sounds like the tigers are about 10 to 12 inch’s going into the ice season.. but as good as the bows do in there it would be nice to see more of them in there as well! despite the not so good fish of the summer there this year, it’s looking realy good for the ice season.. the last 3 weeks it’s been fishing realy good for me.. easy to take a limit of 1 1/2 to 2 lb cutt’s home most evey trip..

oh and for all those woundring that fat boy is still swimming in E-lake.. i only take cutt’s form there..
