ice fishing!

Just get yourself a sled and a dog!Thats what i did last year when i went to fishlake.Just make sure that your dog doesnt run away with your gear like mine did!

Hey Ocean, was that during the day of Pikeman’s chilli meet?

Rich is right Kent, never mind loosing that extra warmth around the middle. Just get yourself a machine of some sorta so you can take everything out. Nothing like having as many of the comforts of home along on the ice.. I merely chain up my old ATC and as those that ran into me at Fish Lake know it does a fair job of getting me around while pulling the family farm. I am looking for a used snow machine for this coming ice season though, and on the ice is the only place I’d probably have use for it..

Yes at fishlake .

I have run out of places to store any more toys around my house, so if I got a snowmobile the boat may need to go, and if I have to give up boat fishing or ice fishing then ice fishing will lose.

I bet you could squeeze a sled in your side yard, kent! Scooch the boat over and there ya go! Or, store your sled at my place..[;)](javascript: addTag(‘;)’))

“Or, store your sled at my place..” Forget storing the sled; how about I package up a few of my kids (not Julie) and send them over for storage at your house!

HFT, my boogers glowing and green boggers work great down at bountiful pond tipped with bait for just about anything. Ive been using them regularly to night fish.

Where there’s a will there’s a way. I live in an on-campus apartment and found the perfect place to store a canoe (see pic). I’m sure if you tried hard enough (and were extra nice to the wife for a few weeks) you could find a place

When I told people I was going ice fishing in the 1980’s,they looked at me in amazement,“you are going ICE FISHING”?Told them I was just a midwestern boy who grew up doing it

Glad to hear it loanfish! make sure you share your boogers with others.

Chad’s suit is burnt because he got too close to the artifical sun. Its the Pillsbury Doughboy on steriods.

They only sled I have is a jet sled and its way under powered. I be happy to accomodate the kid storage, I need all the help I can get finishing the basement.[;)](javascript: addTag(‘;)’)) Will they work for food?

“I be happy to accomodate the kid storage, I need all the help I can get finishing the basement.:wink:/) Will they work for food?” Occasionally – I’ll deliver them to you this evening!

It’s hard to find a place that’s safe from the artificial sun. I bet it gives off more UV rays than the real thing.

Cool, I have placed a small drop box out by the curb.

LOL, yeah being my family stems from the land of a thousand lakes I certainly remember the days I rarely seen another fisherman standing on the hard deck here in Utah (early 70’s). If I remember right at that time Utah Lake and Yuba were my only options, could be wrong. Back in those days a big hammer or chain saw seem to be the tools of choice to break a hole in the ice. Me cutting holes with my Swedish Ice spoon got a lot of strange looks back then. In fact one guy asked me “what ta He** is that!” one day as I cut a few holes near him at Yuba.. Then along came Deer Creek, etc… etc… etc… and the ice fishing thing just sorta took off like it had a mind of its own.. Now on any given weekend just after “Ice On” I think Scolfield has more fisher people that it used to on the opening of fishing season (when the was an opening day)..
But hey, I dont mind in the least. I enjoy the fact more folks here are getting out and enjoying a sport I’ve been doing for well over 40 years, its sure less lonely.
