I punched holes all the way across from the marina [directly out from the boat ramp] to the opposite shore and the ice was 8 inches near the marina and 10inches the rest of the way across.. No slush any where I drilled or drove. No ice ridge. The ATV went across just fine. The ice is very noisy and has almost as many cracks as I have wrinkles. Other than the springs I think travel by sled or ATV is safe. Road and parking lot were the in the best condition I have seen for a while.
Got there late today. Line in water at 1130. First time ever I have got skunked at the berry. Very few fish on the finder either. Fishing just opposite the marina and toward the Strawberry tunnel.
Thanks for the info im heading up there sunday and really want to take the sled across to get away from the crowds.

me and woodpile just returned from the berry it sucked to say the least fished 4 diffrent spots mud creeck in the middle had 10 inches ice and no fish,had cameras and fish finders to see a fish what a rush.have never seen it like that fished in water from 10 to30 didnrt make a difference we traveled 10 plus miles and zip.if we didnt have gas augers we would have died from dilling 50 plus holes 4 whellers willdo well on the ice as of right now it is solid. have fun and be safe.

How much snow is on top of the ice? And when you talk about the marina are you talking about the big marina at strawberry point? I would like to head down there on Monday.

We’ve had success at the Ladders too, but the Marina seems to be the most popular. When the ice is off, we love Soldier Creek Bay.
