I have been very fortunate.

One of my best friends passed away this week. A person could not have asked for a better companion in life. I have indeed been fortunate to have merited such a companion. Everyone should have the opportunity to have a friend such as Shamus.

12 years of screwed up fishing …

I’m sure gonna miss him.

I’m very sorry for your loss. Sounds like you were very fortunate to have had such a friend.

Very sorry to hear about your buddy. He is a very beautify dog.

I hope your memories of Shamus are vivid and happy!

Beautiful companion. God Bless you both. Please visit Rainbow Bridge website.

“Dogs are our link to paradise. They don’t know evil or jealousy or discontent. To sit with a dog on a hillside on a glorious afternoon is to be back in Eden, where doing nothing was not boring–it was peace.” - Milan Kundera

Congrats on 12 years of unconditional love and companionship. I am sorry for your loss, i wouldn’t wish that on anyone…

Sorry for you loss.

I hope to someday be the kind of person my dog thinks I am.

Tough loss…sorry to hear. I’m gonna miss seeing that little chihuahua up at Huntington…

I am very sorry for your loss. Dogs have been such a big part of my family… it’s like losing a blood relative.

I FEEL YOUR PAIN. ITS VERY SELDOM I GO A DAY WITHOUT MISSING MY OLD JAKE THE IRON DOG.

Chuck, sorry to hear of your loss.

That’s way sad. Very sorry to hear it. Some of the best companionship I’ve ever had is with my dog fishing.

Sorry for your loss.

Sorry for your loss . Having a dog is like having a child. We lost one last year [unsure] and its like loosing a family member.

Shamus looks like he was a great pal. I can tell that he will be greatly missed. My sincere condolences on his passing.

Chuck. I’m truly sorry to hear about your loss.

Sorry to hear about your loss. My family lost a 10 year companion two weeks ago. Remington is and will be missed.

I’m sorry to here about your loss, Fishhound. I’ve met Shamus and he was a great dog, and was very welcoming to me when I was at your place. May he rest in peace…

I can relate to the hard times that you are going through. I have had two dogs that lived to a ripe old age and when you lose them it leaves you with a terrible empty feeling. The are the best companions. The only complaint I have is they don’t live long enough. My oldest dog will be ten this year and I hope I will have a few more good years with her. Try to remember all the good times. gshorthair

:sunglasses:Hey Chuck, I knew from talking with you that the end was near. But, as with family, losing a longtime special animal is tough, even when it is expected.

We have all been there, but that does not make it any easier when it happens more than once. If anything, it gets worse.

You mentioned that you might get a new dog (or two). When the time is right that will probably be the best form of therapy.
