Was there last weekend but temps have been warm, just wondering if the ice is still ok?[fishin]
passed by earlier today. there is still ice but not sure how thick. the ice is covered in water patches. I wouldn’t go out on it but there were a few ppl risking it at big hole and the wooden shanty there is still up. threw a few rocks just onto the ice just messing around expecting it to go thru but surprised it didn’t. u might be able to risk it but have to get past the 5-10 yard of water on the ice around the edges but as for me, I’ll wait til the temps go back down and the ice thickens back up
Please don’t through rocks out on the ice . When it snows they get covered up and if you hit one with your auger it gets real ugly . Curt G .
It was 61 degrees there when I went by on Friday. Ron
we stopped and checked it out yesterday on our way to a new years party. one group was working there way out drilling holes. was a little thin on the edges
Thanks for your responses, please keep me informed, as I would like to go back this weekend but i dont want to drive 50 miles for nothing thanks again.[fishin]
I was out on Monday and there was a good 6-8 inches on the east side. Ice was thin for about 15 yards or so, where it is really shallow, but I didn’t have to get my feet wet to get on the ice. Fishing wasn’t any good though, at least for me,
I would be interested to here what people are using and how deep they are fishing. I was out on Saturday and on Monday with no action whatsoever.
This is the second year of slow fishing there. Most of the reports are the same as yours.
[indent]Thanks much for your reports, sounds as if I will wait until the weekend of the 14th to try American Falls again.
As far as what to use I use mainly worm and mellow but have seen good results using small jigs w/ a little worm and just leave it set.[fishin]
In the meantime while waiting for the ice to thicken back up I will go back to Salmon Falls Reservoir for the upcoming weekend and fish the open waters[angelic]
Good luck and stay fishin all[;)]
