Took my son to the lake this evening. I dont know what the heck was going on by the dam but there must have been around 3 hundred boats sitting around down there and hardly a single parking spot by the marina. Finally got in the water and started looking for fish. I was hoping to get on the white bass so Carter could catch some. He's only 4 so Im limited to how long to stay and how he can fish. Looked around a good bit with not any luck and went up to a hump I fish that hasnt been any good this year. Not much going on on top of the hump but we marked lots of bait once we went off the down wind side into the deeper edge. We stayed there up till almost dark jigging spoons and hair jigs. Carter caught his personal best largemouth at about 2.5 lbs. I was proud because he did it all by himself. We caught LM, spots, white bass, yellow bass, and even some actual stripers or hybrids. I also added in my one blue cat for the trip. Fish caught in 12 FOW and temps were 88 to 90. Baits were chrome spoons and chart/white hair jigs. Always enjoy an opprotunity to take my boy with me and we both had a blast except for the battleships aimlessly wandering around throwimg huge wakes everywhere.
