**As I mentioned in the post where I attached the PDF file, I am in the process of doing a substantial edit and I plan to add pictures.
That was put together…in haste…several years ago. I had a request from a friend to provide some basic info on jig fishing. I started beating on the keys and suddenly it was over 50 pages. I did a rough edit and sent it out…and have provided it to quite a few others since.
But, I realized recently that I have lots of pics in my files that would help to illustrate some of the important points. Plus, a lot of us are more visually oriented and just plain like the eye candy. So…at some indeterminate point in the future I will have it reworked and picturecated…if that’s a word.

(You’d understand this, Pat: While writing my first book, I was startled to hear my wife come home for lunch. When I asked her why, she got a funny look and pointed at the clock. It was after 6 pm. I had written 12,000 words and had never even got up to pee. Funny how the story just takes control of the writer, isn’t it?)

That friend was extremely grateful for the information when he received it many moons ago and it has definitely helped him to become a much more accomplished angler.
**Yeah, verily. Being of the verbose persuasion I have always had more of a problem with knowing when to stop than with “writers’ block”.
For many who enjoy writing the process is more of a cathartic thing than any real desire for publishing fame and fortune. Some of our greatest literary treasures have been the result of previously unknown authors “dumping their bucket” onto the written page. Unfortunately, we are also barraged by volumes of dreck unworthy of killing the trees required for the paper.
Over the years I have accumulated a “half vast” collection of short stories, verse, outlines and partially completed novels and other written investments in my time. Out of consideration for others I have kept them from public view.
Don’t know about you but I always seem to be most inspired during peaks and valleys of emotion…when I am deliriously happy or in the depths of despair. Fortunately, I also use fishing as a “brain broom”. I like that better and it is less harmful to others.

**And that friend was a quick study…and has become an accomplished fisher of jigs in his own right. Even better, he has been paying it forward by showing his skills to newbie jiggers. Ahhh…the cycle of life upon the waters.
