I’m not from here and have to go to Gunnison this week. I thought about pulling the boat behind and hitting Yuba for a day of fishing after my appointments. Thought I’d drop a note on here to see if anyone has been out there and if so what the conditions are and if they had any luck with perch and northerns.

Haven’t heard much from the last few days, but before that there were still a few northerns coming from around the edges of the lake. Lots of work for a few fish.
We were down a few days ago fishing for perch. Found them deep…40 feet…feeding actively on 2" perch minnows. Find some schools of perch fry and fish around the edges. Perch meat on jigs worked much better than worms.
Water is still way down. Deepest spots near the dam are only 45 to 50 feet.
With the water being this low is there any hazards to be aware of? Are both boat ramps open? I’ll be heading to Gunnison so would end up putting the boat in at the ramp furthest from the damn if it’s open. I never thought I’d fish with the boat at the end of November. Love this weather. I am from WI originally, was going to troll with crank baits and dare devils for Pike most likely. Don’t know the UT tricks for N. Pike so any other suggestions are received with open arms.

Bigguyone1 was up there yesterday for northerns, but I dont believe anyone out there got anything yesterday. Dont know what the weather/water was like.
I think you are referring to the Painted Rocks launch area. I have not been there for awhile but I understood it was not launchable. You can take the back road across to the dam. It has been maintained fairly well if you don’t run too fast with your boat trailer.
As of a week ago the docks were still in at Oasis (Dam launch area).
