Greyling?

I backpacked up there last August for three days and the weather was unsettled at best. Beeee careful and plan for the worst (and the best!) The hike ain’t that dang bad even with a thirty pound pack in the rain. I was thinking of taking my mountain bike next time and sticking with the main valley instead of the rocky cut off. Here’s a link if you want to check it out. http://www.bigfishtackle.com/cgi-bin/gforum/gforum.cgi?post=155914;search_string=uintas;#155914
Catch one for me, and then put it back!

You know I’m in when we’re ready to go, jsut need to plan what to take. I’ve never fished Greyling so I"ve go no clue as to what to use. Any hints?

I was always done well with brown or black spinners with red or orange in them such as Mepps, Panther Martens, and Roster tails. People have also done well flyfishing or dragging flys behind a bubble.

“These arctic imports provide some additional excitement to mountainous lakes. A large sail-like dorsal fin extending over their silver bodies make them easy to identify. Grayling have extremely small mouths and can usually only be caught on small flies or lures.”

Smallmouth bass ain’t got nothing on graylings!
