The new and improved BFT Store is open and operational. Below is a copy and paste of a post from theangler (Numero Uno), on the moderators board. When you access the site, be sure to read about posting pics with BFT goodies in the pics. We need more of those.
We are also taking suggestions for new items to include in the line. One of my suggestions was for an inexpensive waterproof BFT banner we could fly from ice sleds, tubes and toons, boats, car antennas or whatever. We’re getting prices on different options now.
"[#000000]We have launched the new BFT Gift Shop and will be adding links from the forum shortly. The first batch of items we ordered have come in and are now available on the gift shop at http://www.dabigfish.com[/#0000ff] we have many more items that will be coming in later this month and early next month and are very open to suggestions anyone has of items they would like to see added. Please be advise that although we have tested the store (and everything appears to be A-OK) we know there WILL BE BUGS we missed and apologize in advance to anyone who experiences any problems. As we learn to administer the store better we will be adding more features."
That is great to have that back, I had bought some things in the past, as in the way of beanies, shirts and stickers. TD, do you know if there is an upgrade in shipping? I know in the past, it was like pulling teeth to get purchases.
I have been assured that speedy shipping is a part of the overhaul. Part of the problem before was that there was not a good system of inventory control. Now, BFT has joined the modern age and inventories will be kept up to date with each order, like a declining balance sheet.
Time will tell, and I would like to get feedback from anybody…positive or negative. I plan to conduct some research for my ownself.
Hats, beanies, and more styles of fishing shirts are on the way. We should have samples in about a week and will be ordering once we approve samples.
Flags are in the works but we need your help. There are tons of chioces from felt to canvas and a very wide range of prices. Felt is the the least expensive but is that all weather enough? Please give your feedback, and if you know of any samples out there please post them here.
Above is the least expensive style of pennant/flag. Is this the style you are intrested in? We are willing to do the flags the mjority of people want but just want to get a feel for what everyone’s looking for.
I would say that the shape/style of flag you show there is fine. But my suggestions would be that the flag be: [ol] - Large enough so that when on a boat, others can see the flag from at least 500 yards away. Don’t need to be able to read it, just see it. - Made of a material that is not so stiff that it won’t wave a little bit. - Made of a material that will last outdoors in rain and sun for a couple years.[/ol]
Boat flags would be kind a cool. How many times have you come in from boat fishing a lake and someone else on the board would writes “Hey, I was out there too today. Wish I would have seen you”.
I think that I am in agreement with Old_Coot on the flag issue. I do think it should be durable enough to handle the hot sun all summer long and any other weather that is incountered. Also that it needs to be seen from at least 500 ft. away from another vessel.
I am thinking about the type of flags that are used for signaling. that type of thing , but I do like the pennant style also. Blue background with the BFT Logo in the middle and the State name under that. What do you think? Thats my 2 cents worth.
Speaking of color, if the flag’s background color was a lighter color, like say white or yellow (or is yellow the color for a down water skier … can’t remember), it could double as a “need help” flag. Just pick it up, tape it to a paddle, and wave it back and forth to get someone’s attention.
