Got My Flies

I took some shots also cause I was already taking shots from another fly swap I was in. But Dryrods fotos look sooooooo much better.
Got to be that fancy smancy camera.

Kat…I need you help with how these flies work on the Weber, you know.

Thanks FGD but you are too generous with your flattery. I have an SLR and several lenses, but it is a pain to take out the camera, change to a macro lens, get out the tripod etc. So I went on line to Best Buy and bought the new Canon SD 1100 IS camera for only $149 + tax. Shipping was free. It also came with a 2gb card. Maybe now I can take my camera out on the water to capture those huge 9" bows that keep getting in my way.
***Still getting use to all the features. Hope to do better next ***

The madam X is hot on the weber in late august/september. I have had good success when I hit the web once and there were some stones out, luckly I had a pen and could color some red on the body.

The parachute knat is really good through the winter when there is some top activitiy. I actually have better luck with the knat on the Ogden in winter.

For my my goto flies on the web are

  1. Prince
  2. Hare’s ear
  3. Scud
  4. Pheasant Tail
  5. During the end of June and into july the CDC mayfly emerger in yellow is really hot.

Flygoddess the BWO fly looks like a killer smallie fly. Ever make any to sell? I would get a few.

Friend, I have cornered myself into three separate fly swaps at this time so let me try throwing one of those in here and there to break up the monotony  I will get in touch when I get a few together for you and get the details on where they got to go.

No worries. I wouldn’t even have a chance to throw them for months. I may be able to create something like that by then.

Cool, stay in touch on that, that could be fun, a Mayfly show off LOL but I can put some together for you.

Getting ready to make some crooked winged bugs. How did you tie your body, if you don’t mind me asking. It looks glossy.

Goose Biot. Olive and wrapped with curve out.

My Mayflies still need work but I did pull off a dragonfly.

AWESOME!!!

Ill second that awesome on that fly.. looks like you have some competition there sis..

MacFly :sunglasses:

Got that right!

 .. but you are still the one and only flygoddess..

MacFly :sunglasses:

LMAO…and you are my little bro!:sunglasses:

would not have it any other way sis..

MacFly :sunglasses:

Me neither or either, or whatever it is!

Tailgrabber, it looks like hair…can you make them BLUE like the damsels here?

we also have a redder looking one and a green one here.. ??

and yes sis Im gonna ask the newbie fly tyer question.. to tailgrabber..

ya got a video, step by step, or other type recipe for that fly??

MacFly :sunglasses:

I supose I could make it in any color, if I had the material. I used bucktail and some synthetic dubbing for the body. I do have hot pink or chartruse bucktail. I will try another with some flash. If you like it, it’s yours. You too macfly
I can’t imagine this fly being too castable. Atleast not for long casts.

in the close to reed/bank situations that Id be using it in the cast would not have to be that long..just so it is able to drift along that area the fish should come and get it so to speak..
