So I’ve got an opportunity to buy a 9’ Colorado pontoon for $250. I know the guy well and he bought it 2 or 3 years ago from Costco for $289, he has never even opened the box. I know these are kinda disposable cheap pontoons, but I am fairly easy on my fishing equipment and would only use it a handful of times each summer. So is it worth $250? I don’t know much about pontoons at all.
What are they selling for now?
**The Colorado is a good “starter” toon. They are surprisingly tough and well made for a “price” craft. They have a built-in motor mount and a rear deck too. **
**There have been some issues in the past with valves and with seam problems. But I have not heard of those for the past couple of years. **
The frames are steel and seem to be well made. No problems with frame breakage that I have heard. They are a bit heavier than some toons but if you have a small trailer or if you can drive up to a ramp to launch that is not a problem.
We have had quite a few BFTers who have owned the Colorados and most have been pleased with how they fish.
The price is right. Walmart has them listed for $348 current price.
I agree good starter, but is it still under warranty? I would worry about it being folded up for that long.
Pump it up and wait a day, if it is all good, then you got a killer deal.
Thanks for all the help, I’ll have to pump it up and test it out before I fork over the cash.
