does anyone out there know of some good city spots, in salt lake? i like to unwind a little after work and do a little fishin but rarely have time to go to any of the canyons or lakes. i have done a little but with minimal success.
you could always try your closest community pond i know the closest one to my house is the one in muarry and they stock that with catfish and trout and some bass the fishing is ok depending on when you go alot of times it get fished out by guys who go with buckets and keep everything they catch so the kids hardly get anything
i will second you post. Was a willo yesterday with my 3 year old and it was bumper to bumper everywhere and a couple of fams that had two adults and 2-3 kidz and they were taking 4 fish each (not cool). No wonder willow gets fished out fast. I hope they change the rules soon.
in my own personal opinion there should be 1 fish for each kid and 1 for each adult up to 3 adults and if they dont want to do that everything should just be catch and release
we went out there today. got there a little after 7, was thinking “its early, going to rain NO ONE will be there”…OH MY GOSH…i dont think i will ever try to fish a community pond again haha. There were only 4 parking spots left. People almost fishing shoulder to shoulder. Watched people keep walking up on the pier even tho there were already 4 people, so there ended up being 7 people fishing off that little pier. We stayed bout an hour and said “forget this” we drove up to jordanelle and didnt get squat. I was mainly trying to get a fish for my neice and nephew, thats why i attempted the community pond. Neva again lol
i also tried fishing today went up to utah lake where the boats launch fished off the dock for about 20 mins and ended up catching a decent white bass going back 2morrow morning around 5 ill let you know if the fishing is any good (ill put the pics of the bass on) caught with and 1/8 jig head with a green and white curly tailed grub
