good area for crawfish trapping please

I am making a homemade trap today for crayfish but was curious if any of you guys had any suggestions of where to use it. I live in Farmington and plan to use it at lost creek but would LOVE a place closer that will get me some while I shore fish or sit and twirl my thumbs :sunglasses:. If you know of a good place or hint that you would be so kind to part with that would be amazing, Im just trying to get into fishing/crawtrapping. Thanks a ton.

The Berry is the best place of all…

My brother has been catching a lot of crayfish lately using traps and other methods at night. His favorite way to do it now is to go just after dark and just tie a raw chicken leg to a string, or your catfishing pole, throw it out a little ways and bring it in every ten minutes or so with 4 or 5 crawdads attached. They won’t let go.

Thanks I’ve been interested in trying berry but I would like to check if my handmade trap works before trying the big pots at berry.

Do you happen to have any idea if there are dad’s in the weber river downstream of morgan? I know that Lost Creek Res has them but really want a closer location. Im in Farmington so thanks [;)]

Most of the streams and lakes (not sure about the high elevation bodies of water) would have crawdads in them. They are just more plentiful in some places.

East canyon is the closest place I can think of…

Ive caught hundreds at Schofield just off the docks.
