Going to Strawberry

Just moved back to Utah. Going fishing/camping at strawberry this weekend, I have not been up there since I was a little kid. I am taking a small aluminum boat and planning on staying on the soldier creek side. I need some pointers on the fishing up there, I recently moved from Cali. and I am excited to do some serious fishing. I have lead line rigs and a downrigger. What do you guys recommend? What pound test should I run on the downrigger set up? I have heard jigging works well up there, I have also been told to fish the canyon that leads from soldier creek to the meadow. What do you guys think? PM me if you have anything juicy to tell me, I am tight lipped, I just like to fish and have a good time, I know Strawberry can take a long time to learn, I am just trying to get some advice to have a good time. I have a few flashers, micro spinners and pop gear. Depth? Set up? Bait? Help me out! I also want to catch a slew of crawdads any advice w/ that? last time we went we just tied some chicken wings to some string, let it sit and slowly brought it in under a powerful spot-light…I know there are a lot of questions that I am looking for answers. I am just ready to catch some nice fish!

Any advice you guys could give would be great!

Thanks a ton!

Its about that time of year when the cutts come close to shore feeding up for the winter. What workd for me doesnt mean it will work for you but a white tube jig tipped with cub usually does the trick. Also casting rapalas imitating chubs to the shoreline works great too. As for trolling i dont do that much unless its a slow day for me. I suggest you troll shallow and work your way deeper if your not getting bites. I have not had too much luck on the soldier creek side but i hope my ifo helps you good luck and have fun.[;)]
