Going to Boise need fishing spots

Hey all, I will be in and around Boise does anyone know some good fishing spots. Mostly rivers (cry for me… I can’t take my tube) in and or near Boise.

Oh and good places to eat too.

The Boise River flows right through town. It’s a great trout fishery.

Big Juds…Merritt’s Home of the scones…Bar Gernika.

You might also post your questions on the Idaho board. Those local guys know more about the area than anyone, imo.

They just put steelhead in the Boise and it is elbow to elbow fishing.

There are a number of community ponds. Idaho Fish and Game Home | Idaho Fish and Game Click on the Boise area waters.

If you travel a ways there is the South Fork of the Boise, and in Oregon the Owyhee River.

Post this on the Idaho board there are several members from that area. I am from the Southeast Idaho area so I really don’t know much!!

call the tackle shack (kokaneetackle.com) there in boise and will answer your questions about the fishing around boise.

If you don’t mind driving for an hour or so the South and Middle forks of the payette are great. I grew up a few miles from the owyhee and it is similar to the weber for BIG browns.

Thanks for all the help/ideas.
