The Riverdale Sportsman’s Warehouse will be holding an Ice Clinic for people new to ice fishing.
Basic instruction and safety will be the topics.
This is a free clinic, open to everyone interested.
The Clinic will be held on November 16th
7:00pm to 9:00pm.

I will be giving the clinic again this year. I’ve asked James if he would be interested in giving out some samples of his ice jigs again this year.
He said that he would.
The clinic is a great introduction into ice fishing.
I hope to see a full house again this year.
By the way, The store already has a lot of ice gear out and ready to sell.
Now all we need is ICE.

I’m not aware of another ice fishing clinic at the Riverdale store.
I don’t know if the Salt Lake area Sportsman’s plans do hold a clinic or not.

Thanks for putting on the clinic - it was very informative and helpful. Yet another new aspect to the sport to learn (and get “stuff” for!). Now I’m excited for ice-up!
Just unfortunate we didn’t have time to peruse the store more after, and pick up those strike indicators and ice-lures. The Warehouse does have an impressive selection. I was in awe and amazement when I looked through the wall of tubes and worms.
Thanks to James for bringing those samples. Nice variety - selection to get started. Picked up a few more glowy things.
Any opinions out there on Ice Augers? I saw they had one for about $40- then one that was @20-30 more. What do you get with the step up? Do you need anything more than a simple hand-auger?
I’ll try to post Pat’s Perch Chowder recipe later (hope TubeDude doesn’t mind). Haven’t tried it myself - exactly, but anything that starts with Bacon is off in the right direction, eh?!
I did use some homemade fishstock as a base, also like mixing up the soups, cream of mushroom’s good. Corn in chowder just seems right to me. Added some dumplings, and used crawdad tails and big-chopped shrimp. Would be good in a hot thermos on a cold winter’s day (on the ice!).
We had a good group at the clinic last night.
It was good to see so many people new to ice fishing.

The basic auger from Eskimo is as good or better than the higher priced model IMHO.
I like the Strike Master hand augers better though.
