Flaming gorge

I ran up to the gorge for a day and a half, the water level is way down so finding the fish on the right lanes took some time. I was able to land a good 28 pounder and I was surprised that he weighed that much had to double check, once I switched to Kokanee I had a fish on in about three minutes and then one of the worst storms that I’ve ever seen while boating came in. My buddy, who is a guide up there for over 30 years agreed that that was one of the worst, there was at minimum a boat in distress if not capsized.

The pictures, by King Fisher Island were taken just Minutes before the storm came in.

. You know how stories can get mixed up at the marina. I’m glad my dog and I made it back safely, it took a serious check up from the neck up to be able to focus on getting back when water is coming over the bow and over the side of the windshield.

The boat is still drying out in the garage, but in all it was a successful trip. I will have some better Intel for the next trip and hopefully get a few more big boys on board.

Wow! On the storm glad you and pup made it safely! Nice fish as a bonus!

I was out there in the storm today. Not pleasant. Fishing poles were singing from all the static.

Glad you survived the storm and nice mack, way to go on kokes too. Looks like the red cliff area of Sheep creek. Is that where you found the Mack?

The storms that roll across that lake will definitely open your eyes, glad you made it back to the ramp safe and sound Joe. Very nice laker

Congrats on the big mac, glad you made it in. The Gorge can get really bad if it wants to. The weather has been a roller coaster ride this weekend.
