Does anyone know what the current ice conditions are at the gorge? I would hate to get all the way up there with my ice gear and not have any ice. Thanks for any info.
We were up there a week ago today and the edges were still good. Late in the day the pressure ridges had opened up, so we had to go around them to get back to the truck but the ice was 15 or 16". Someone on the Wyoming board ask the same question and haven’t received a reply yet either. Hopefully one of the guys up there will say something, if not, all I can say is send one of them a PM, hopefully they will respond. Good luck. WH2
I was a 1/4 mile south of buckboard on the 11th. The ice was 16+ inches with some ugly pressure ridges and the next day at lost dog it was 30+ inches with good edges and no pressure ridges.
Thank you both for the info. Hopefully I will have something good to report when i come back.
Hello IDfishinUT, we fished the gorge Wednsday. The only open water was at Buckboard. We fished Sage creek and Current creek on the south side and Holmes crossing on the northside. Take your cleats it is really slick. Hope this helps
