Flaming Gorge Catch Report- 5/20/08

My daughter and I, hit the lake for a couple of hours yesterday. Water temps have climbed to a consistent 50F down in the canyon and the kokanee fishing has finally turned on.

We caught 5 kokes and one bow in just over an hour of fishing. We missed a few others and lost another 3 kokes due to aerial acrobatics and last minute boat avoidance! Fish were found in a band from 15-30ft. We did best using a #1 Needlefish in pearl bikini under a 2 oz snapweight and planer board. The second best lure was Serpent spoon in watermelon trailing a 3 oz snapweight and planer board. Optimum boat speed was around 1.8 mph.

Hope it helps, Ryno

Great report Ryan, thanks for posting it. Sounds like the koke and bow catching have really heated up. Sure hope I can get up there soon.
