Or something like that.
I’m headed for my first boating bass trip to Utah Lake tomorrow AM… weather doesn’t look so good.
For those with more Bass expertise, are we more likely to have luck fishing the bottom with jigs that with floating lures?
I would assume so but would appreciate any tackle advise for the expected conditions:
11MPH winds gusting to 18MPH
Overcast with occasional heavy rain possible
Be safe out there…those waves have a tendency to swallow boats every year. On the bright side…those weather guess have the reputation for being wrong too.
As for the bass…bottom bouncing plastics works…for spinners mid depth works great.

When it gets windy the fish actually tend to get more active and aggressive. I usually fish things like spinnerbaits, lipless cranks and squarebills under those conditions.
Yeah, it ended up being a bit too wavy at the north end to even bother trying to troll in it with the flat-bottomed fishing boat we have.
We did catch a couple just in the shelter of AF Harbor.
But it appeared it was slow for everyone we talked to.
