so next week i will be fishing fish lake for most of the week. anyone been up there recently? what are they hitting on? i fish for mostly trout but would love to get into some perch, anyone have any tips? i think i am going to try for them on 3 inch tube jigs, or is that a bad idea? any tips you want to share i sure would appreciate it 
If you want to target the perch at fish lake I hope you are in a boat or a float tube. Go to the edge of the weed line and fish the edge where it drops off to the deeper water. The perch can usually be caught easily using a small hook with a little worm. You might put a little weight on it to get it down faster. Use your 3 inch tubes to collect a few splake or rainbows that cruise the edge of the weed beds looking for an easy meal. If the wind isn’t blowing you can look down in to the water and see the perch and watch them come and take the bait. A great way to spend some time with young anglers. good luck. gshorthair.
