My daughter tells me she saw something on Reddit (?) about a big fish kill at Willard. I can’t find any news about it. Anybody know for sure?
We saw no sign of dead fish when we were out there in on Tues. And the water temps had dropped since out last trip out there, plus with the rain and cooler temps, I kind of doubt there was any major fish kill but you can always find or see a dead fish floating out there this time of the year.
I guess if anything major happened, we will hear about it sooner or later.

The recent carp die-off at the Willard Spur Waterfowl Management Area — a popular area in Great Salt Lake’s Bear River Bay — is both intentional and highly beneficial for wildlife and the general ecosystem. Wildlife managers from the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources temporarily restricted water flow in the area to eradicate invasive carp, clearing the way for beneficial native sago pondweed to re-establish. Leaving the decaying fish in place naturally recycles vital nutrients back into the ecosystem, revitalizing the wetland for the ducks, swans, geese and other shorebirds that rely on the area.
