Finally finding some bigger cats!

I went fishing on Utah lake saturday and sunday. It was a little windy, but the fishing was outstanding! My buddy and I were fishing Provo bay. We fish for cats almost every weekend, but usually we just end up with a load of the 2 lb. cookie cutters and a few bull heads. We broke that trend this past weekend and finally hit some bigger catfish. On saturday, I landed a pretty decent 4 lb. catfish, but we had even better luck on sunday. We caught our normal load of 2 pounders, but we also caught a couple 3 pounders, a 4.5 pounder, and the biggest was a 5 lb. cat. We lost a few others that felt pretty big. I fought one for a few good minutes before it decided to wrap itself around some reeds and leave me with a nasty snag that broke my line. (I’m just glad that I always bring a lot of extra line and tackle.) Other than letting a couple of 'em get away, It was a some great fishing. I am glad the bigger ones are coming out to play. Now, I just need to find the 10-20 lb. monsters.
