I debated and settled on pink backing and a light tan line but if teeny made that purple and pink casting for awareness in a 3wt i would be all over that lol

The color of that reel definitely looks cherry red to me. Speaking about reel color I made the mistake of getting two Orvis chrome colored Battenkill reels. Why well it is just another spooking point to the fish when the sunlight reflects the sun onto the water. My last Battenkill purchased was black and my Orvis CFOIII is brown. Now I will have to get black forceps as the my chrome one likewise reflects the sun. Oh yeah why donāt they make forest green fly vests so that one blends more naturally with the background?
If you are close enough for the fish to see the glissen of light off your reel, you are too close and have already spooked them.
Seriously, the finish on your rod, the guides (specially the tip tops), and just because they are black, they are a high gloss finish.
I have had this discussion before as you can tell. I wear a bright pink shirt, and yellow baseball cap, the trick is to crawl at times, and if you can see your reflection in the waterā¦so can the fish.

well you could always start fishing with me seems its always cloudy and going to rain when i go lol
well it came and all is well its a lot smaller than i thought it would be compared to my 5wt that measures in at 3" and it more of an anodized red than manly pink so all is well the small windings on the rod are a metallic red and match perfect now i just have to play hooky from work and try it out

I donāt dare crawl for I probably wouldnāt be able to get up. Thatās cool for you young guys but my knees have seen some tough times. lol Iām inclined to believe if the angle of the lighting is correct there is a chance of spooking the fish. When I start fishing I work the waters only several feet out and progress from there. So when Iām close in flashing could be a problem.
