Okay the final people are in. I am tying 2 flies for the swap. Please include your stories for this so I can put it all together. Please have the flies to me by the 21st. PM me and I’ll send you my address. Remember we have seven for the swap, so tie 8 flies so I can put together a set with a fly box for the winner. If you PM me the stories I’ll put them up here for voting. I will not include the name of the person submitting the story to make it fair. Also, if there are any pictures of the adventure send them along as well. The winner will get another set of flies with the box for the effort. Looking forward to seeing these.

Great idea about sending the story to you to post instead of each of us posting it. Trouble is some of us have already identified the fly we are writing a story about so it can be figured out. No big deal though.
I have one set done. Plan to do a second fly if I can find the time.
If we have 7 tyers participating which includes one’s self wouldn’t that mean that we would tie 6 for the swap and 1 for the extra set for the winner or do you want to give the winner an extra 2 flies of each? 
It is a lot easier on the guy organizing the flies for shipment to the participants when his duty is to ship identical sets of flies.
Otherwise he has to keep track of each exact set of flies to each participate. Or to say it another way: For 7 tiers he has 7 unique sets of flies he can not mix up just because of the one fly.
If it was me organizing it. I would pull out my hair spending hours making sure I have it straight but at the end I would be rushing to get boxes labeled and the collections into the box and would still mix up at least two of the sets of flies. That is because Alvin follows me around. Alvin’s law = Murphy was an optomist.

Just sticking my nose in, but in response to the question about the number of flies to send to the controller of the swap.
It’s thoughtful and customary to provide an extra fly or two to the guy that has to organize, assemble and mail the flies to everyone.
I only mention this because this is the first fly swap for many of the tiers involved.

**Well the only reason for me asking is that sometimes I can be confused beyond all reason. That happens when one passes 39. I mean way pass. Last year I think that we had about 6 or 7 people participate in the fly tying swap. I sent 6 pairs of patterns. Duh, yes I did. No wonder that Flygoddess started to sip the corn squeezing before it’s time. So this year I thought that we were to send 2 flies [all the same pattern] for each tier in the swap group. I did tie up a dozen like Macfly55 did. So at this point in time I will wait for clarification from **katghoti. Plus an additional two for the organizer.
Sorry I confused you. After I sent it I thought it might have done that.
To my understanding the Fly swap is for one fly pattern. But like for the previous swap some of us have elected to tie more than one fly pattern but it is not required.
…whewwww Im glad it is only one fly… if it was more Id have to rush home and make up a bunch of wb’s and make up a story (uhmm is that a fish story…[:)]) to go along with them.. [sly]

I messed up the swap Fly Goddess had going, but I wound up with so many flies I had to buy aother fly box. Now when I go to the stream I look like one of those guys who can open his coat and display a hundred different watches for sale.
So think of a way out of this for guys like me.
I do have a fly in mind that worked so well in Washington state’s ‘Seep Lakes’ drainage. And another that worked in the Sage Brush lakes, but everybody has copy’s of those already.

This swap was about your favorite fly along with a story. We have some participants that are buying their flies to join the swap. Then we are voting on the best story and that person receives an extra set of flies. The deadline is past for this swap, but next time we’ll keep this in mind for the non-tyers.

I forgot to mention in the PM to you, that my two are CHIRONOMIDS, for those who might not know. I hope I sent enough. I tied two different ones that work together and eight of each. If you need more let me know.
Ha, one down one to go. The caddis is done (easy tie you can really whip these out quickly. I did all 8 in 20 minutes). I have five prince nymphs left (these take a couple minutes a piece). I have recieved only two packets of flies. I am looking forward to the stories.
