Got to our condo this afternoon after a week in Orlando, the back of the place is on Lemon Bay and the front is the Gulf of Mexico, arrived at low tide but they have a fishing dock out back, 3rd cast and I got into a nice Snook, two casts later and was into another nice one that wrapped me around a piling and broke off. The docks are nice as they have lights under them and the Snook stack up hunting fish, I will be out late most nights! More to come.
I’m jealous!
I’ve bought quite a collection of surf casting equipment and lures and will one day choose a coast for a fishing vacation. For now, I’ll start to practice casting the new equipment and try for the long casting distance that’s possible with it.
Catch big fish!
Right On!! Love the Racing Strip…
Go get em Remo.
You are a bit north of where I normally fish but better positioned for the runs that should be happening about now.
I recommend renting a Kayak to get you into the back channels of Stump Pass. They can be had for $150 for the entire week at Beach Road Watersports, well worth it for the areas they open up. They have room for a cooler, umbrella and gear. Sit on tops so they are easy in and out.
White Clousers and white/silver, white/green deceivers, Puglisi’s, crab patterns… Shrimp patterns next to the mangroves for snapper.
Good info, thanks! Only issue right now is some Red Tide, lots of dead fish in the beach[:(]
Even more reason to get a Kayak, the farther back into the backcountry you go the less it will be affected by the tide.
Probably not much affect up by Blind Pass or up Forked Creek.
Don’t let it slow you down…
