It’s been many moons since I have been here on BFT.
I moved from UT county to SLC county and I finally have time to fish.
I have passed echo lake on my way to WY. and see it’s FULL.
My question is, what is the best fish to target and what to use?
I prefer trout but my wife will go for anything.
I have a small 14FT fishing boat and I would like to know where to launch.
Also, we want to know the best place to camp.
Thank you in advance,
Shawn

The best place to launch would be the only place to launch - in the NEW State Park.
The best place to camp would be the only place to camp - in the NEW State Park.
There are bass, perch, and trout (rainbows & browns) in there. Take your pick.
Welcome back.
I have not caught any walleye there, but supposedly those too. I caught a nice mess of crappie last summer there.

Thanks all!
Any suggestions on baits? (any species)
Should I troll for the trout?
I’d target some smallies on a drop shot or ned rig. But I am a biased bass fisherman and haven’t fished for anything else there.
I was not aware Echo had Crappie. Good to know
Yes, there are crappies in Echo. FF posted a report with a pic of a nice batch late last summer. And I went up a week or so later and got a couple. Nice fish. Here’s a pic of one I caught…just south of the ramp casting in to shallow water along the shoreline. Also got a lot of nice perch and some smallies.
