Hi all, Good to see so many getting on. Gona take a bit of time learn/use the new site but glad to see a a bunch trying. I have a few updates ( mostly scouting for perch to come to shore with limited success) but I will start with a great quick trip to Echo creek with the student club. The Cutts are growing nicely and the size improved from last year. I did my ultralight micro jigging with 32oz jig head and a gulp minnow. As long as I stayed “steathly” was able to get a lot of looks and even a few takes but the best fun was teaching this method to a student. Good fun. Video link below…

I also got a new pup. Told a whopper of a story to Cookie about catching a record bass, at Pineview, that the fish and game were going to meet me at the house to measure. Showed up with a new lab pup. She let me live. A great video that caught the full emotion of the ruse is also below. She let me back in the house after a few days but I am sleeping on the couch… :slight_smile:

Will be out with the club Monday and Tuesday. Will let ya know how it goes.

Great videos Lance, the first one reminds me of when I did the Cutt grand slam, all the small streams I fished, nice to see you out fishing a stream, nice change of pace.
The pup video was great too, reminds me of all the black labs we had over the year. Our last dog was a chocolate lab and once he left us, we decide he was our last one but in recent years I’ve started to rethink that, we will see. Glad to see you posting again, hopefully other members will start posting again too.

ya, I plan to be more active and have a few good trips in the works

One of the biggest issues with my activity is inability to connect with my phone (unless I am home going through my wifi). I had hoped it would go away with the new system but it did not. I have similar issues going to the Utah DWR site. Weird.

I’ll bring this up with theangler, not sure it can be fixed but it’s worth giving it a try.

Here is the answer I received from theangler I’m posting it here in case others are having similar issues.

Since he’s also having similar issues reaching the Utah DWR site from your phone, it may be more of a mobile connection issue than a problem with your forum account specifically.

A few things to try:

1. Test with Wi-Fi turned off and on

  • Try loading the forum on mobile data only

  • Then try again on Wi-Fi

  • If it only works on Wi-Fi, the issue could be related to your cellular provider or phone settings

2. Try a different mobile browser

  • If you normally use Safari, try Chrome

  • If you use Chrome, try Safari

  • Sometimes cached data or browser settings can cause odd loading issues

3. Clear browser cache/cookies

  • Old cached files can sometimes create connection problems after a site migration or platform change

4. Turn off VPN, ad blocker, or private relay features

  • If you use a VPN, iCloud Private Relay, security filtering, or ad-blocking apps, those can occasionally interfere with certain websites loading on mobile data

5. Restart the phone

  • A simple restart can sometimes clear up mobile network routing issues

6. Check whether the site opens from a direct link

  • Instead of going through a bookmark, try typing the full forum address directly in the browser: forum.bigfishtackle.com

7. Test on another phone or network

  • If possible, see whether the site loads on another phone using the same carrier

  • That can help narrow down whether it is device-specific or carrier-related
