Weird weekend for a holiday weekend. it was beautiful every day with no wind and glass like lake conditions.
only problem, the fish were hard to find. I finally found a “DECENT” boil on saturday afternoon just before the sun went down and finally threw the kitchen sink at them which was a Firetiger kastmaster lure and they started hitting on them.
We eneded up catching 20+ fish with a nice 4lb striper in the mix.
Other than that, fishing was slow. But the weather should be turning soon i hope and they will start being everywhere.
Nice catch bro… Glad you found some I drove 300+ miles over the 3 days hunting them from shore and didn’t find squat haha!!! Some some nice boils just left of the hemmingway harbor but I was about 300 yards short casting from the shore haha!!! The times have changed since I fished the lake… I miss the old days of yanking quality stripers with chovies from the shore… I thought it was just me but looking at the striper club board and there tourney results it seems there all small any more people getting the big fish award with a 3 to 5 pounder… We used to pull 7 to 12 pounders out of box car “shore fishing” like clock work…now I see a few hefty ones competing for popcorn at the docks ad that’s it… I got a boat rented for willow not this weekend but next in hopes of getting a nice quality fish…[fishon]
I wandered what all those signs were saying special event 9-11 expect delays… The signs start at water street and go to calville bay lol… It’s suppose to be real nasty with thunder storms sounds like fishing weather to me… I’ll be out there bright and early rain or shine shore fishing haha..
LAS VEGAS - The National Park Service is advising visitors to expect delays and exercise caution on park roads on Sept. 11 due to the Ironman 70.3 triathlon event. Cyclists participating in the event will be on traveling from Lake Las Vegas and entering the park on Lake Mead Pkwy. onto Northshore Rd. to mile 17.5 north of Callville Bay. Lakeshore Rd. between the Lakeshore/Northshore intersection and Boulder Beach entrance will not be affected.Cyclists will be in the park from 6 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Visitors arereminded to “share the road” and pass only when it is safe. The National Park Service is requiring all cyclists to travel in a single file, except when passing. Parking will not be permitted along the cycling course. The park will remain open to the general public during the event.

I also got yelled at by them and spectators for passing. I ride also but but come on guys, use common sense and safety while riding.
